Welcome to the Xiamen International School Library

The Xiamen International School Library welcomes XIS community members to enjoy its space and collection that includes over 30,000 print volumes and hundreds of e-books through its online platform, SORA. The XIS library programs and services are guided by three key goals: to nurture a passion for reading, develop critical thinkers who use information and ideas effectively, and to be a welcoming virtual and physical center for learning, discovery, and collaboration serving the entire learning community.

XIS subscribes to the following digital resources and databases that support students’ informational research needs: JSTOR, Newsela, Brain Pop, Encyclopedia Britannica, Gale’s Opposing Viewpoints, and this coming school year 2020-21, Kids’ Infobits, Global Issues in Context, Middle School in Context, MS/HS e-Book Collection, Science Online, Ancient and Medieval History, and Modern World History. We invite you to explore the elementary and secondary websites where you will find a wealth of resources including e-book sites and access, book recommendations, and research supports, guides, and websites, including specific project research resources.
